How can social media better support the brand identity?
Working with Chicago Market, a community co-op, I developed a set of Instagram covers and posts that better support its brand identity.
Before redesigning, the highlight covers used photos from the album, which could make it hard to capture the content. So I designed a set of icons that align with the branding design of the market, using the colors from the identity guide. We also briefed the title of each highlight for better readability.
Uptown Farmer’s Market is a sister project produced by Chicago Market. It inherits the yellow color from the Chicago Market while having its own logo and branding. So when I designed the promotion posts for the vendors attending Uptown Farmer’s Market, I utilized the shape of leaves from the logo and the main color, which is green and yellow, to distinguish it from the Chicago Market. The deliverable includes a PSD template for future editing and a set of 21 posts.

Use “Better Mkt” as the title for better readability. To reflect on Chicago Market’s value of “concern for community,” I created an icon of a shopping cart with a heart. It is a grocery store with a good heart. I used the light teal color for this highlight, as it feels calm and thoughtful.
The events related to the Chicago market are cheerful and exciting! So I picked the red color and created a party popper icon to make people interested.
I chose the iconic Chicago Market teal blue to celebrate the new owners. They are the stars and everyone should get a badge! The shape of the badge was taken from the branding guideline.
I used the yellow color shared between Uptown farmer’s Market and Chicago Market. I created an icon of a paw that can be interpreted as either dog or cat to suggest it is a pet-related highlight.
Use “Farmers Mkt” as the title for better readability. I combined the green color for Uptown Farmer’s Market and the short version of the logo. The logo is in black so that while maintaining visual consistency, it can be distinguished from the other highlights of Chicago Market.
